Home Is Calling

Carrington here…

First and foremost I want to thank Cecilia Gorman for letting me squat on her blog for a couple of weeks and document my journey throughout this amazing process. I will be fading to black after this post and retreating into oblivion, unless you wish to follow my personal blog at carringtonfaulk.tumblr.com.

I’ve seen so many things on both of the coasts,
Jetting from VA to LA and back again,
And onto N-Y in a jet so fly,
Can I even put into words what I’ve seen?
It was a blessing being able to visit every agency and feel the different vibes and energy levels in each. It was this sneak peek into their culture that formed my own personal agency rankings. To be honest, my rankings may be unfair seeing as though I only spent as much as a day at each. But sometimes you can just feel it. You can feel what space is more conducive for creative thinking or which agencies made the crew and I feel at home when we came by.
I learned things over the course of these two weeks from my teammates you couldn’t teach in a book. Every name under the title of this blog made a lasting impression on me and my future path in this business. But I’m sure I speak for all of them when I say that the ride doesn’t stop with the making of this video. We must continue to intensify the movement towards increased diversity in advertising. Strategies must be put into motion and behaviors must be modified in order for this to be a success in the long term.
I’ll leave you with a few pictures from the trip that didn’t fit into any of my previous posts, but I like them nonetheless. Make sure to check my blog from this point on for video content I’ve concocted over the course of my agency travels. Lord willing after my final year at the VCU Brandcenter, I’ll have the pleasure of calling one of these agencies my home.
